A low-cost, light-weight, micro air vehicle capable of providing operational utility to ground-based users in need of rapid intelligence, surveillance or reconnaissance. The Arrow MAV, shown in the digital image at right, can be hand launched for short distances, or can be rocket propelled to distances greater than 1/4 mile. When rocket launched, the Arrow emerges from its rocket shell at apogee. At this point all control systems are armed and the aircraft is remotely piloted, providing the user real-time feedback via the onboard video camera.

A low-cost, light-weight, micro air vehicle based on the Arrow MAV described above. The Arara MAV is constructed to resemble a bird in flight. Candidate uses include surveillance, intelligence collection, and target marking.
